IV Nutrient Therapy
What is IV therapy?
IV therapy is a superior method to deliver nutrients by bypassing the gut. In an ideal world, our diets would provide us the optimal nutrition to thrive. Unfortunately, agricultural practices and modern living make that more difficult than you’d think. In a time when the average person is struggling with getting enough fresh air and sleep, eating a balanced diet that is nutrient dense is challenging.
Even when we try, chronic stress, environmental pollutants, and nutrient-depleted foods make it nearly impossible for us to get the number of vitamins and minerals we really need. When nutrients are given intravenously, the absorption is 100% compared to oral ingestion which is estimated to be around 30% absorption. Through micronutrient testing, IV therapy can be customized to fit the exact needs of each patient.

What to expect from IV therapy
Once your medical history and vital signs have been reviewed, a registered nurse will place an IV into the vein. Normal saline will begin infusing prior to the administration of the vitamins. A warm compress is provided if desired. Sometimes patients feel “sleepy” during the infusion and may choose to nap.
We feel it is best to take our time with infusions to allow maximum absorption. When the infusion is complete, we ask people to take it easy that day to allow the vitamins to have the best effect. Patients will notice improvements within 1-2 days of the infusion. The duration of effect depends on the individual's baseline health.
How to prepare for your IV therapy appointment
Before beginning your infusion, it is best to be well hydrated. There are times when starting with a hydration IV before adding the vitamins is considered. Although a complete medical evaluation with baseline vitamin levels can be helpful to customize infusions, it is not necessary for standard infusions. It is important to have a trained healthcare professional available to review your health information, assess risks and benefits of each infusion.
